National Donut Day, World Sword Swallowers Day, Sidewalk Chalking Month, No Drink November ... there are a lot of obscure holidays and observations. And May is Mental Health Month. What does this mean to you? Why do we dedicate time to this?
“Share your story. Find your well."“
At Story Well on May 2, we’ll offer some basic mental health screenings in case you are curious about the state of your mental health. This could be a starting point to get more information. We'll also explore emotion through some writing prompts and a collaborative art piece. Come by for a laid-back, supportive conversation all about the merits of taking care of this facet of our wellbeing. Perhaps you'll even set an intention for minding it a little more closely throughout Mental Health Month.
Story Well — held the first Monday of every month at 6 pm in a variety of locations and sometimes on Zoom — is a time to share and discuss the various ways we can help and care for each other.
Our Mental-Health-Month Story Well will be held at one of our favorite hosts — Eat My Words Bookstore in NE Minneapolis.
Whether you have substance use or mental health concerns, feel depleted by everyday life, have a friend or loved one who is sick or suffering, or just want to connect with others around the idea of being well, this is a place for you. Hope to see you!
P.S. We mentioned donuts, so donuts will be provided.
