Story Well, our monthly first-Monday gathering, will host a feature evening on Dec. 2. We'll ring in the holiday season with self-care and festive eats and drinks, from cookies to apple cider . The evening will begin with a realistic talk about the situational stressors that kick into overdrive during the holidays. We'll discuss a plan to handle stress and expectations by setting healthy boundaries, and share some simple self-care practices that really work. Drawing from Dissonance's Unhappy Holidays events of seasons past, invited artists will share their holiday stories and perform a little something special. Gather with us at the Warming House and set your season off on a high note!
Featuring (L to R): Mayda, Jason Chaffee, Lewiee Blaze, Annette Schiebout
Mayda is a Korean Adoptee multi-musician/artist/producer from the land of 10,000 Lakes. “Her R&B-infused pop is undeniably fresh, as she swings between pared-down acoustic struts, full-band funkadelic blasts, and electronic drumbeats and synth flourishes that would make the Purple One proud. The result is a slick, expansive, and evolving pop sound, aided in part by producer and mentor Michael Bland whose Sonic Matrimony Collective label released Mayda’s first full-length, The Interrogation, last year. The prolific young soul singer is just beginning her journey, but it’s hard not to anticipate big things from the petite yet larger-than-life pop songstress.” -Andrea Swensson, The Current
